Accreditation Oversight

The Office of College Effectiveness (OCE) manages all accreditation activities for the College, serving as the primary point of coordination and institutional knowledge. This currently includes support for:

  • American Psychological Association (APA)
    The American Psychological Association is the main professional organization of psychologists in the United States, and the largest psychological association in the world. It has over 190,000 members, including scientists, educators, clinicians, consultants, and students.
  • Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP)
    CAEP accreditation is the largest nationally recognized, nongovernmental quality assurance system for colleges and universities that train teachers and educators. It ensures that educator preparation programs meet rigorous, evidence-based standards.
  • Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE)
    The Middle States Commission on Higher Education is a global institutional accreditor recognized by the United States Secretary of Education since 1952. As an accreditor and member of the regulatory triad, MSCHE assures students and the public of the educational quality for its over 500 institutions of higher education. The Commission’s accreditation process ensures institutional accountability, self-appraisal, improvement, and innovation through peer review and the rigorous application of standards within the context of institutional mission.
  • National Educational Leadership Preparation (NELP)
    Administered by the National Educational Leadership Preparation Specialized Professional Association and approved by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation, this national accreditation evaluates educational leadership programs that train principals and school district superintendents.

OCE ensures consistency, accuracy, and sustainability across accreditation systems while supporting faculty in maintaining strong, evidence-based programs. As part of our commitment to sustaining a culture of continuous improvement, the Office works with the academic departments in the College to research appropriate professional agencies to expand our accreditation portfolio.
