University Assessment

The Office of College Effectiveness (OCE) advances Seton Hall University’s mission-centered, data-informed culture of assessment by aligning college-level practices with institutional priorities and the University Assessment Office. In support of the strategic plan—Inspiring Great Minds to Greater Purpose (2025–2030) —the Office collaborates with faculty, staff and leadership to ensure that assessment activities reflect and contribute to key priorities, including transformational student experiences, impactful programs and research, and community engagement.

Central to this work is the development and ongoing refinement of department- and program-level goals and student learning outcomes, ensuring clear alignment between academic programs, accreditation expectations and University-wide objectives. Through systematic collection, analysis and reporting of assessment data, OCE provides meaningful evidence of student achievement and program effectiveness, supporting institutional reporting needs and continuous improvement initiatives.

By translating college-level findings into actionable insights, the Office contributes to a university-wide assessment framework that evaluates performance relative to the mission, academic vision and strategic goals while helping to “close the loop” on assessment and strengthen student success outcomes.
