WSOU Students Land Positions Upon Graduation

WSOU Music Director Valentino Petrarca will be working as a junior project manager at AW Media.

Seton Hall University's WSOU graduates have successfully secured jobs in the broadcasting industry. Dylan Hunt, Katherine Patton, Audrey Pennington, Valentino Petrarca, and Benjamin Harris will all be working professionally at well-known networks in a variety of positions.

Dylan Hunt '22 will be working at Fox News in the podcasting department as a podcast coordinator. In the position, Hunt noted, "I will be working on Fox's many podcasts, doing audio editing, writing for scripts, as well as booking guests." Hunt will be working in-person at the Fox News Headquarters on 48th street and Sixth avenue in New York City.

Katherine Patton '22, who was the former station manager of WSOU, will be starting her career as a research analyst with iHeartMedia following graduation. Patton commented, "This role is part of the corporate research team providing audience and consumer data, insights and materials for senior company leadership and stakeholders throughout the organization."

Audrey Pennington '22, a Visual and Sound Media Major, will be working as a post support technician at NBC Universal. Pennington described the job as dealing with, "media management and troubleshooting software issues that editors are having."

Valentino Petrarca '22 will be working as a junior project manager at AW Media following graduation. Petrarca will be, "corresponding with Livenation or Ticketmaster, and the bands' record label/management team in order to help create visual components of a tour such as tour shirts, posters, backdrops, wristbands and much more." Further, he, "will be working high-end clients on the Billboard Top 40 charts." As WSOU promotions director, he is excited to be working a full-time position and he, "couldn’t be happier."

Benjamin Harris '22 will be working at the MLB Network as a Freelance Broadcast Associate upon graduation. Harris shared, "I'm going to be doing a lot of editing and content creation, plus making highlight videos, condensed games, and other video content. I will be making these for both the Network itself, its website and social media, in addition to other MLB outlet websites, league, team, and player social media channels."

WSOU 89.5 FM is Seton Hall's award-winning, student-run radio station of the College of Communication and the Arts. Since its inception in 1948, WSOU broadcasts from the University's South Orange campus, reaching all five boroughs of New York City, Southern Westchester and Rockland Counties of N.Y., and much of the northern and central parts of New Jersey.

The College of Communication and the Arts currently offers graduate-level programs in Museum Professions and Communications, with the opportunity to pursue specialty areas of study, including options in Public Relations, Digital Communication/Communication Technologies, and Communication in Organizations. In addition, four dual-degree options, including three accelerated M.A./B.A. programs and a M.A., Communication / M.A., Diplomacy and International Relations dual degree with the School of Diplomacy and International Relation are offered.
