Masks, Our Health and Our Community

As we reach the midpoint of this week's Move In and return to campus activities, we take this opportunity to remind our entire Seton Hall community about three important ways we can remain healthy and safe.

1) Lead By Example

Each of us provides an example for others by doing what is right.

  • Wear a mask or face covering at all times (including outdoor spaces) whenever you are in a public place, on and off campus. Of course, none is necessary when you are alone in your office or residence hall room.

This expectation exceeds government guidance. We believe the extra effort is worthwhile.
  • Download the #CampusClear App at the App Store or Google Play store. Use it every day. The #Campus Clear App is a daily symptom tracker for COVID-19 related symptoms. If you do not have a smart phone, use the online option in PirateNet.
  • Wash your hands frequently, using soap and water, for at least 20 seconds.
  • Practice physical distancing, maintaining 6 feet from others.
  • Avoid large gatherings, especially those where these hygiene measures are not being followed.

2) Understand Mask Requirements

Seton Hall requires everyone on our campuses – faculty, staff, administrators, students, clergy, and visitors - to wear a mask or face covering at all times. All times means everywhere – inside buildings and outside , other than while dining or alone in a room.

Check here for advice on the most effective face coverings.

3) Support and Hold Each Other Accountable

The Seton Hall Pledge is our shared responsibility. As a faith community, we are called to support one another, to share and set expectations, and to lead by example.

  • Kindly remind and encourage one another to abide by the Pledge, including wearing a mask, practicing physical distancing, and monitoring symptoms and health daily through the #CampusClear App.
  • Help community members and visitors find a mask if they need one. Disposable masks can be found at the Public Safety vehicle entry gates, University Center desk, Bethany Hall desk, Provost's Office, and all residence hall desks. More locations will be added soon.

Many individuals throughout the University have worked tirelessly to prepare each campus for the semester with health and safety paramount. It is now our shared responsibility to understand, commit to, and live by the Seton Hall Pledge. Doing so will greatly help protect our own health and the health of all those around us.

Please continue to review our FAQ page . You may also visit the Planning for Fall 2020 website for additional information and to submit feedback .

Please remember: wear a mask. It is our shared responsibility.
