Celebrating Community

Since its founding in 1856, Seton Hall University has been a place where students grow in mind, heart and spirit. Bishop James Roosevelt Bayley envisioned a community rooted in hospitality and respect for the dignity for every person. Today, that commitment continues as we welcome a rich diversity of backgrounds, experiences and perspectives that deepen clasroom dialogue and strengthen our shared life together.

Our global community includes students from across the United States and more than 70 countries, and nearly 40 percent of our undergraduates identify as students of color. The statue of Elizabeth Ann Seton at the center of our South Orange campus stands as a daily reminder of the community we strive to build-one where every student is fully welcomed, supported and able to share their gifts.
