Celebrating Christmas Together, At Home  

Despite our distance, we continue to be excited to celebrate Christmas at the Hall with our community of students, faculty, staff, and alumni this year! While we are not physically together, during this holy and joyous time we were able to host a unique opportunity for us as a global community to come together virtually.  The Office of Student Engagement in partnership with Student Activities Board (SAB) was excited to reimagine our Annual Tree Lighting ceremony into a virtual Christmas special, Together at Home: Virtual Christmas at the Hall Special on Friday, December 4th at 7 p.m. EST.  Our hosts Robin Cunningham, Associate Vice President and Dean of the Center for Academic Success and Winston Roberts, Associate Dean of Students were excited to showcase our student performers including the University Choir, Gentlemen of the Hall, Gospel Choir, as well as the Seton Notes in virtual performances.  With over 1600 views, the virtual special brought the magic of Christmas at the Hall into the homes of our community members near and far! 

Joseph Kajon, Sophomore Mathematics and Computer Science major from Rutherford, NJ noted how he was anxious to see how Christmas would be celebrated in the same "large-scale" way due to the health and safety standards outlined in the Seton Hall Pledge explaining, "the first question I had for SAB was if there would be a Tree Lighting Ceremony. It is such a staple of Seton Hall, and I made so many memories with my friends there last year." Joseph, along with his fellow Pirates, were pleasantly surprised saying that the virtual special, "exceeded all my expectations!" 

Students, faculty, alumni and community members all rallied around the Christmas at the Hall spirit attending events, registering for their signature Seton Hall Blue Santa Hat, listening to our the Deck the Halls Holiday Spotify playlist, downloading and utilizing our Christmas Celebration Toolkit, and using the #HallChristmas and tagging us on Instagram @HallStudents or @SHU_SAB.
