July 24 Update from the Re-Opening Operations Team
Friday, July 24, 2020
Dear Fellow Setonians,
This week, Seton Hall is releasing its confirmed restart plan to the University community. Please familiarize yourself with the plan, which has been posted online.
Our restart plan is comprehensive and will answer many of your questions regarding the University’s return to campus and procedures for the fall semester. It reflects countless hours of contingency modeling, discussion, review and updating by more than 140 members of the Seton Hall community who served on various committees.
Now confirmed by the State of New Jersey, the plan was designed to be inherently flexible and accommodate any emerging scenario. As Seton Hall has done since the beginning of the pandemic, we are continuing to incorporate the latest public health data and expert guidance into our planning.
The University’s commitment to the health and safety of students, faculty, clergy, staff and administrators remains absolute. Our HyFlex instructional approach, which allows students to learn on a reduced-density campus or entirely remotely — plus a multitude of extensive health and safety improvements — will allow Seton Hall to deliver the higher education experience our community expects.
Earlier this week, administrators and staff members attended a Teams meeting to learn more about their anticipated return to campus on August 10. As required by the state, we will implement various methods, such as rotating schedules, staggered start and end times, and other efforts to reduce campus density. After the Teams meeting, the University distributed Return to the Workplace Guidelines so employees can review health and safety protocols.
We are prepared and ready for a robust academic year. With everyone doing their part to ensure the health and safety of our entire community, as outlined in the Seton Hall Pledge, we are confident our return to campus will be an incredible experience. Please continue to consult the Planning for Fall 2020 website for the latest information.
