US-Pakistan Intercultural Coalition (UPIC)

Who We Are

UPIC logo - the word UPIC with a circle in the C

UPIC unites key civil society members from the United States of America and Pakistan towards a common peace-building mission. We are the only US-Pakistan initiative that combines experiential learning, interfaith dialogue, cultural exchange and youth-led digital diplomacy in a university setting. UPIC acts as an interdisciplinary program under Seton Hall University’s Center for United Nations and Global Governance at the School of Diplomacy.

Why US-Pakistan Relations?

The United States and Pakistan share long-standing diplomatic ties grounded in mutual interests, including counterterrorism, cooperation, regional stability and economic development.

UPIC strengthens this relationship at the civil society level by using Track II diplomacy to promote mutual respect, constructive engagement, and sustainable partnerships.

Partnering for Peace and Innovation

We believe that true diplomacy extends beyond traditional institutions and states, and begins with people who are willing to listen, learn, and act together.

UPIC envisions a future where Americans and Pakistanis engage as partners in peace and innovation—creating knowledge, cultivating trust, and advancing intercultural respect for generations to come.

"UPIC opened my point of view on a broader scale. I can now understand how layered the process of change can be in diplomatic situations."
