Seton Hall Student Assistance Program

The Seton Hall Student Assistance Program is available to students enrolled at the University. It is made possible through a grant from the Strategic Plan Fund and generous contributions to the Student Assistance Fund established in loving memory of Jay Roczynski, a cherished Seton Hall student whose legacy continues to support peers in times of hardship.

The purpose of the Student Assistance Program is to support students who encounter an unexpected, unavoidable situation that is impacting their ability to be successful in their academic pursuits and who are seeking short-term, one-time assistance. Such situations may include a medical/accident incident, transportation issue, loss of belongings due to a fire or flood, unexpected textbook costs, or similar emergencies. The program does not assist with tuition or fees (including parking) and is only available after the student has exhausted all other resources, including accepting subsidized loans if available. Assistance may come in a variety of forms, including financial grants and campus or community resources.

The average amount of any financial grant from the program normally will not exceed $500. Not every request is funded, and all support is subject to the availability of funds.

Eligibility for the Student Assistance Program

  • The applicant must have exhausted all other available resources before requesting funding from the Student Assistance Program.
