A Message from President Nyre Regarding Yesterday’s Major Storm  

Dear Setonians,

I hope you and your families are safe.

Yesterday's damaging rain, wind and flooding brought incredible destruction to almost every part of our region. Governor Murphy declared a state of emergency for all New Jersey counties shortly after 10 p.m. last night, an action followed by numerous local public officials. Multiple reports describe the unprecedented volume of rain that fell in a matter of hours.

Your well-being is of utmost importance. That is why we cancelled classes today — so each of you can attend to your needs and those of your loved ones and neighbors. In fact, we have received several reports of students and employees already assisting others. Thank you.

Across our campuses, Facilities teams are surveying buildings to assess and address any damage. Food and shelter services for students remain open. At all three campuses, staff are working to assist students and others who may need help.

This is a developing situation. We will continue to keep you apprised through additional announcements.

I pray for the safety of you and your loved ones. Together, we will overcome the challenges of this storm. Hazard Zet Forward.
