On Wednesday, Nov. 4, Carl Bon Tempo will give a lecture entitled "Lessons of History:
What Does the American History of Helping Refugees Tell Us About Contemporary Refugee
Problems?" The lecture will be held in Fahy 2 at 4 p.m. and will put the current refugee
crisis unfolding in Europe and the American response to it in historical context.
Carl Bon Tempo is an expert on the history of American refugee policy, immigration, and human rights. He is associate professor of history at the University at Albany, State University of New York. He is the author of Americans at the Gate: The United States and Refugees during the Cold War.
