Provost Office Impact Talks on Innovation in International Education  

Seton Hall University’s newly renovated University CenterThe Office of the Provost is proud to offer another installment of its Impact Talks speaker series "Innovation in International Education" on Friday, April 21 at 10 a.m. in the University Center Theatre. Rector of LUISS University Andrea Prencipe and co-president of the Institute of International Education (IIE) Sarah Ilchman will discuss trends and offer their insights around international education and its resurgence post-COVID.

Prencipe will provide perspective of an institution that has been at the forefront of international education since its founding and highlight recent and innovative multi-country degrees offered by LUISS in partnership with universities around the world. In parallel, Ilchman will discuss the role that its many programs have had in bringing people together and bridging multicultural understanding, peace, diplomacy and global development.

Following the event, all are welcome to enjoy lunch in the Patrick R. and Cathy O'Brien Gallery, located outside of the theatre.

Since 2021, the Office of the Provost has welcomed speakers from a variety of backgrounds as part of the Impact Talks speaker series, which focuses on understanding the human impact of specific trends, disciplines or industries within communities and societies, welcoming speakers from a variety of backgrounds.

Andrea Prencipe is Professor of Organization and Innovation and has served as rector of LUISS University since 2018. Innovation is his preferred subject of research and teaching, as well as the principle inspiring his actions at LUISS. Under his academic leadership, LUISS University's ultimate goals have been the enquiry-based educational approach (promoting students' critical and creative thinking), multi- and inter-disciplinary degree programs, and internationalization.

His works have been published on international journals such as Administrative Science Quarterly, Industrial and Corporate Change, Organization Science, California Management Review and with international publishers such as Oxford University Press. He sits on the editorial board of Organization Science, International Journal of Project Management, and Research Policy. His work frequently appears on national and international newspapers, such as Corriere della Sera, Sole 24 Ore, and Financial Times.

Sarah Ilchman, co-president at the IIE, advances the strategic excellence, relevance and impact of the Institute's programmatic work across the world, including the implementation of the global Fulbright Student and Scholar Programs at IIE. Championing the organization and advocating its mission to internal and external stakeholders, Ilchman develops relationships with U.S. and foreign governments, higher education institutions, multi-lateral organizations and NGOs to promote access to opportunity, advance scholarship and build economies.
