Easter Message from President Nyre

"If, then, we have died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him"

— Romans 6:8

Our Seton Hall community will soon join Christians worldwide in emerging from the reflective season of Lent and embracing the fulfillment of Easter.

Like the Apostles, we will persevere through the despair that comes with losing hope on Good Friday. And we will experience the lasting joy that attends the good news of Christ’s resurrection.

We recognize that both despair and hope guide our journey as a Catholic community. Through our despair, we are better able to recognize sorrow in others and offer them comfort during their time of testing. And in our joy, we extend to others the lasting hope that was won for us on Easter.

These vital lessons strengthen the heart of our University, and are brought to greater fulfillment throughout the year in our community of Great Minds. They inform and enliven the character of Seton Hall graduates who serve others around the world.

I pray that you and your loved ones receive the blessings of Easter and give life to its lessons throughout the year.

Sincerely,

Joseph E. Nyre, Ph.D.
President
