WSOU Alumni Legend Carissa Abraham '14.
From hard rock music, to news reporting, to college sports and everything in between, the College of Communication and the Arts' WSOU 89.5FM's is proud to announce the latest digital initiative, "WSOU Alumni Legends." This new social media series will spotlight just some of the numerous successful alumni of the station. Through posts featured on the College of Communication and the Arts' and Seton Hall University's Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter accounts, two WSOU legends will be highlighted each month.
WSOU has long enjoyed a strong and motivated alumni network. Many alumni of the station remain actively involved with the station, attending annual events, acting as mentors and helping to provide networking opportunities for current students. In many ways, alumni are considered as both the legacy and the voice of the station and play a significant role in continuing the success of WSOU. Through this exclusive digital campaign, alumni working in the broadcasting, communication, or other related fields, will have the opportunity to share their journey from being a simple college student to a broadcasting success.
"I chose Seton Hall specifically for WSOU. I always knew I wanted to work in radio," said Carissa Abraham, Class of 2014, the first WSOU alum featured in the campaign. "I knew WSOU was widely known in the media and entertainment industry and I wouldn't get better hands-on radio experience anywhere else. Many of my colleagues today at Entercom are Seton Hall and WSOU grads!" Now a programming coordinator at Entercom, Carissa is one of the alums sharing their stories about their transformative experiences at WSOU and, ultimately, the influence on their career path.
Other alumni to be featured in the campaign include:
- Michele Collazzo, Class of 1989
- Anthony Colombo, Class of 1987
- Lindsey Czarnecki, Class of 2008
- Mike DePippa, Class of 1995
- Frank Garrity, Class of 1982
