Music Program to Hold Sale of Grand Pianos and Select Stringed Instruments March 5-7, 2020
Monday, February 17, 2020
Students, alumni, faculty, and friends of the university are encouraged to attend the annual Rockley Family Foundation Instrument Sale, which runs from March 5 to 7 in Corrigan Hall. As part of its partnership with the Rockley Foundation, the College of Communication and the Arts' Music program has had access to a variety of different instruments including high-class pianos and orchestral string instruments, all at no cost basis for the 2019-2020 year. This ongoing arrangement is provided through a partnership with the Rockley Family Foundation, recognized by the I.R.S. as a 501(c)(3) organization.* These instruments, instruments provided to other institutions, as well as instruments made available by our manufacturing partners will be sold to perpetuate this valuable program and provide support for the Music Program at Seton Hall.
A selection of grands, baby grands, digital player grands, vertical (upright) pianos, digital pianos, violins, violas and cellos will be available. This event will feature starter to professional level instruments from such famous makers as Pramberger, Seiler, Yamaha, Roland, Stravari Fine Violins with a discrete selection of used Steinway & Sons pianos, and many others. Most instruments are less than one-year old, include a new factory warranty, are tuned, and ready to go. Delivery and special no-interest financing is available on site.
There are two ways to view and purchase:
- By Appointment: You are invited to attend a special "pre-sale" on Thursday, March 5, Friday, March 6 and the morning of Saturday, March 7, along with our faculty and staff, prior to admission of the general public. This will give you an opportunity to purchase with priority in selection and price reductions. To secure a private appointment time call: (973) 738-2541
- You may attend the final sale day on Saturday, March 7, from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. without an appointment.
This event will be held on campus in Corrigan Hall (near Ward Place gate). Free parking is available in the Parking Deck. For directions please call or visit the Rockley Family Foundation website.
*If a portion of the purchase price is considered a charitable contribution to the Rockley Family Foundation, used to support the Seton Hall University music program, the deductible portion would be limited to the excess of the amount paid over the fair market value at retail of the goods purchased. You should consult with your own tax advisor as to individual deductibility.
