Amy Kline, Ed.D., Appointed to State Public School Staff Shortage Task Force by Governor Murphy

College of Education and Human Services (CEHS) Associate Dean of Assessment and Accreditation, Amy Kline, Ed.D., has been appointed to Governor Phil Murphy's newly established Task Force on Public School Staff Shortages in New Jersey. The task force is part of Governor Murphy's efforts to address ongoing school staff shortages and will be charged to develop short and long-term recommendations to increase the number of K-12 school staff – including teachers and support staff – in the State.

Chaired by the Chief Policy Advisor to the Governor, the task force will be comprised of no more than 25 members including the Commissioner of the New Jersey Department of Education, school administrators, superintendents, school board members, and various education-related associations.

"I am honored to be selected to be part of this vital initiative. I am deeply appreciative of Governor Murphy's commitment to understanding and addressing the teacher shortages affecting our students. I look forward to working with the other educational leaders and experts in the task force to develop actionable steps to improve the State's dire need for teachers and other educational support staff," said Kline.

In addition to her leadership role in the CEHS, Kline is currently President-Elect/Treasurer of the New Jersey Association of Colleges of Teacher Education (NJACTE), a professional membership association representing the diverse perspectives of the 25 educator preparation programs in private and public institutions across the State. For the past two years, Kline has also served as Program Chair for the American Education Research Association Special Interest Group on Accreditation, Assessment & Program Evaluation in Educator Preparation.
