Welcoming Students Back to Our Campuses - Seton Hall University

We look forward to welcoming students back to our campuses, with a special welcome to members of the Class of 2026. In preparation for the start of the semester and academic year, we provide the following information to help you stay healthy.

The Health Intervention and Communication Team (HICT) continues to meet regularly to review the latest public and University health statistics along with government guidance.

Accurate and regular information is important, so we reorganized the HICT website to provide you the most important and most relevant information. Please take a moment to visit the site to acquaint yourself with its new look.

In late July the World Health Organization declared an international public health emergency over a global outbreak of monkeypox (MPX). Although MPX is still classified as a rare virus, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention are tracking nearly 9,000 cases of MPX across most U.S. states. On Thursday, August 4, Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra declared a national public health emergency.

The CDC provides valuable information, including:

Seton Hall's Health Services also provides important MPX information at:

We strongly encourage you to regularly consult the HICT updates, the HICT web site, and State of New Jersey Department of Health (NJDOH) and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) sites.

We know that more changes may come, so we continue to monitor public and University health statistics, along with government guidance. Any significant change in University health and safety protocols or resources will be clearly communicated.

Your health and safety remain paramount in Seton Hall’s planning and actions. If you have questions, comments, or suggestions, please contact the HICT here.

Sincerely,

Matthew Borowick
Vice President of University Relations
Co-chair, Health Intervention and Communication Team

Monica N. Burnette, Ph.D.
