Reminders for Keeping Yourself and Those Around You Safe and Healthy - Seton Hall University
Thursday, April 7, 2022
The State of New Jersey has seen a steady increase in cases, with the transmission rate exceeding 1. The HICT is closely monitoring University and public health statistics, along with government guidance. Case counts across our campuses remain low, with a 5-day moving average of .6 as of April 5.
With the upcoming vacation, along with anticipated travel, we provide a few reminders about keeping yourself and those around you safe and healthy:
- The CDC has updated its COVID-19 vaccination guidance, recommending a second booster for certain individuals.
- The CDC provides helpful quarantine and isolation information and a calculator.
The University continues to promote a wide range of health and safety measures:
- Anyone wishing to wear a mask is welcome to do so.
- Faculty may require masks be worn in their classes, clinicals, and labs, and students must comply.
- University community members are welcome to request others to wear a mask when meeting. We ask everyone to be considerate of such requests.
- KN95 and surgical masks are available at various locations, including Walsh Library (circulation desk- 2nd floor); Schwartz Hall (2nd floor – student welcome desk); Bethany Hall (1st floor- student welcome desk); Mooney Hall (Center for Academic Success- student desk); the security desk at the Law School entrance; the IHS campus security desk; and at the Student Services IHS campus desk (1st Floor, Room 1517).
- Building signage notes "Masking Welcome."
- Everyone should always carry a mask with them for those situations where one is desired or needed.
- (IHS campus guidelines may differ slightly.)
We know that more changes may come, so we continue to monitor public and university health statistics, along with government guidance. Any significant change in University health and safety protocols or resources will be clearly communicated.
Your health and safety remain paramount in Seton Hall’s planning and actions. If you have questions, comments, or suggestions, please contact the HICT here. We wish you and your loved ones a restful Easter break and much peace and happiness during these holy days.
Sincerely,
