New Pirates Course Showcases Students’ Passions to Fellow Peers

Pirates CourseA new professional development opportunity is now available for students who are interested in teaching fellow students in an area they are passionate about. Pirates Course is a unique program for students to share their talents with other students through a master class-type format. It is also an opportunity for students to learn from one another and to come together for a common interest. A Pirates Course can be about anything – Music, Artificial Intelligence, Entrepreneurship, DEIJ, Science, Dance – whatever your passion, this is a way you can share it with others.

This new program offers students additional learning opportunities to provide a presentation in front of peers. This hands-on approach allows each student to speak on something they are passionate about and gain guidance from Seton Hall mentors on how to structure a presentation and 60-minute class.

Students who participate will gain valuable professional presentation experience that they can add to their resume. Additionally, presenters may meet other students who share the same passion and want to connect.

Students who are interested in teaching a Pirates Course can apply by completing this form with your topic of choice. The selection committee will then select students to teach their course in the Spring 2023 semester.

The Dean of Students Office will cover the cost of any supplies needed for the course or for participants in the course and will assist in the marketing and course registration process.

Completed applications are due November 30, 2023. All applicants will be notified if they have been selected over the semester break to offer a Pirates Course.
