As part of its commitment to enhancing campus services and streamlining user experiences,
Seton Hall University has launched a new parking management system, Parking Portal,
powered by Smarter City Solutions. The new platform is now the primary way for students,
faculty and staff to apply for and manage parking permits.
Replacing the University’s previous permit system, NuPark, Parking Portal offers a
more intuitive, digital-first experience designed to simplify and modernize campus
parking. With Parking Portal, users can apply for and manage parking permits online
                                    and update vehicle information easily.
“The launch of Parking Portal is a meaningful step forward in how we deliver services
to our campus community,” said Marisol Rivera, assistant director, Parking Services.
“This system brings greater transparency, flexibility and efficiency to an essential
                                    part of daily campus life.”
The parking permit process will continue to be accessible through a dedicated Parking
Portal application in the PirateNet dashboard using Single Sign-On for seamless login.
Additionally, Parking Portal will be rolled out in phases. Currently, the portal allows users to purchase a permit and have the fee transferred to either payroll or tuition. In the near future, the application will be integrated with TouchNet, enabling credit card payments for both permits and citation fees.
The next phase of the parking system rollout will include the activation of entry
and exit gates. Once operational, drivers with a valid permit will simply slow down
as they approach, allowing the system’s License Plate Recognition (LPR) technology
to identify their vehicle and automatically raise the gate within the designated permit
                                    lane.
The platform aligns with Seton Hall’s broader efforts to adopt innovative technology
solutions that support operational excellence and improve the student, faculty and
                                    staff experience.
This launch marks a continued effort by the University to invest in infrastructure
and services that meet the evolving needs of the Seton Hall community.
