Off Campus Living

When transitioning to living off campus, it’s important to prepare for the responsibilities that you will have as a resident living in off campus properties. The Department of Residence Life provides resources to help students succeed as members of the local community, understand and advocate for their own rights and responsibilities, and persevere in navigating challenging situations faced for the first time.

Seton Hall’s Off-Campus Living portal aims to aid students, including our graduate student community, by providing off-campus listings as well as a guide to start the process of deciding which off-campus option is best. This online off-campus housing service lists rental housing options from landlords interested in providing housing opportunities to students in the South Orange, Newark and Nutley areas to support students attending school at all three Seton Hall's campuses.

The Off-Campus Living listing site features:

  • access to comprehensive property listings with photographs, floor plans, a map demonstrating proximity to capus, a list of amenities, as well as contact information.
  • an overview of the types of off-campus housing available.
  • information about tenant rights and responsibilities.
  • a roommate finder tool.
  • message boards.
  • tips on how to choose a good landlord, living with roommates and safety.
