A New Era for Seton Hall Pre-Law Students at the P-PAC

Pre-Law students Seton Hall’s pre-law students are off to a strong start. The Pre-Professional Advising Center (P-PAC) recently celebrated the launch of its expanded services for the pre-law community, drawing more than 200 students eager to explore pathways to law school and the legal profession.

From the moment students checked in, they were welcomed into a vibrant, resource-filled community. Each attendee received a P-PAC Pre-Law Success Folder with curated resources, along with scales-of-justice keychains, law-themed stickers and AccessLex tote bags stocked with free guides and materials to support their pre-law journey.

Students had the opportunity to meet the P-PAC team, including Director Chantal Vergara and new pre-law adviser and attorney Madelyn Ferrans, who shared their vision for building a strong pre-law community at Seton Hall. They emphasized the center’s commitment to providing students with professional advising, workshops, LSAT preparation and experiences designed to help them excel in the law school application process and thrive in future legal careers.

The event blended fun with professional preparation. Students participated in an Icebreaker Bingo game, where they learned legal terminology while networking with peers and meeting the advising team. The evening also highlighted Seton Hall’s thriving pre-law student community, with organizations such as Seton Hall University Model United Nations (SHUNA), the Mock Trial team, the Pre-Law Student Association (PLSA), the Student Government Association (SGA), the Minority Pre-Law Society (MPLS) and the Seton Hall Undergraduate Law Review (SHULR) showcasing opportunities for involvement, leadership and skill-building.

First-year pre-law student Jacob Moskowitz described the launch as “an outstanding experience to network with such amazing people in the first week of school,” adding that he looks forward to “future events and meeting more people” within the pre-law community.

Those opportunities will come quickly, as the P-PAC has more than 40 events scheduled for the fall semester, including panels, workshops, networking sessions and skill-development programs to prepare students for the rigor of law school applications and beyond.

The energy of the launch underscored the significance of P-PAC’s expansion. With strong attendance, enthusiastic participation and a full calendar of programming ahead, Pre-Law at Seton Hall is poised for a year of growth, community-building and preparation for future legal careers.

Emmely Suarez, president of the PLSA, reflected on the event: “I am so excited to have the P-PAC as a resource for all our pre-law students on campus. This event is simply the start of our growing pre-law community.”
