Friday, September 3, 2021
In light of the devastation wrought by the remnants of Hurricane Ida in New Jersey, Seton Hall University has made a significant contribution to the Student Emergency Fund.
Traditionally funded through private donations, the Student Emergency Fund is intended to provide short-term emergency relief for basic necessities with priority given for food, medical, and utility needs.
As much as 8-10 inches of rain fell during the course of the storm causing widespread flooding, loss of life and untold property damage throughout the state; members of the Seton Hall community have suffered substantial losses.
“We realize we may not be able to address every need. However, these funds can provide meaningful relief and enable students to recover from the effects of this terrible storm,” said President Joseph E. Nyre. “As a University and a faith community, we are called to care for each other, particularly during such trying times. It is our hope and intent that through the Student Emergency Funds we may join together in assisting our fellow Setonians during this time of great need.”
Students may apply for aid through the Student Emergency Fund Request Form which provides details about the fund, its uses, and its process.
Additionally, the School of Law is offering assistance through its Law Student Emergency Fund Request Form.
