On Thursday, June 12, 2008 the New Jersey Cooperative Education and Internship Association recognized two students with the organization's Student of the Year award. This annual
award acknowledges New Jersey students for serving as outstanding interns. One of
this year's awardees was former Seton Hall undergraduate student Jeremy Hebert. While
a student at the Whitehead School of Diplomacy and International Relations, Jeremy
served as a summer 2007 intern with the U.S. Department of State, Foreign Service
Institute, Sub-Saharan Africa Area Studies. Throughout the course of his internship,
Jeremy was charged with a variety of responsibilities, including conducting research
on African countries for training purposes, co-designing a syllabus and schedule for
training of government employees, managing the logistics of several speaking engagements
and similar functions, and renovating training materials via creation of country-specific
electronic briefings.
Jeremy graduated with his B.S. degree in May 2008. He is the first Seton Hall undergraduate
student to receive this award.
