Seton Hall Again Named to Forbes List of Top Colleges in America

Campus

Seton Hall University was again named a "Top College in America" by Forbes for the 2023 edition of its national ranking.

According to Forbes, its ranking encompasses:

U.S. colleges that educate undergraduates according to their Carnegie Classification—a higher education framework that categorizes institutions based on the types of degrees they offer, their research output and specialty focus. We chose doctoral research universities, master’s universities and colleges and baccalaureate colleges, as well as colleges that offered specialized programs in engineering, business and art.

The Forbes list of 500 Top Colleges in America is drawn from more than 2,600 colleges and universities (2616), making those included in the list, therefore, among the Top 19 percent of colleges and universities in the nation. Seton Hall ranked among the top two thirds of the Forbes list, placing it thereby in the Top 12.5% of schools in the country at 327.

Top Third Median Salary
Among the Forbes 500, Seton Hall ranked in the Top Third for the Median 10-Year Salary of its graduates at $120,400 per year, placing it at 159 among the Top 500. If taken within the context of the larger field of 2,616 schools, Seton Hall would then place within the Top 6 percent.

That number is consistent with recent research from Georgetown University that showed Seton Hall to rank within the Top 10 percent of schools nationally for return on investment over the course of a graduate’s workforce career.

The Georgetown research found that Seton Hall alumni can expect to reap an additional $1.4 million in earnings during the course of their career by virtue of their degree, which placed the University at 175 among the 1700 schools – the Top 10 percent nationally.

Although Forbes measured Salary within its ranking, it did not factor into its methodology the employment rate per se for graduating students. Seton Hall’s employment rate for 2022 is 98.5 percent and its graduate school acceptance rate was 98 percent.

Other Rankings
Inclusion again in the Forbes List of Top Colleges in America is just one of many recent accolades the University has received. U.S. News recently ranked Seton Hall within the Top 35 percent of all National Universities; The Princeton Review again recognized Seton Hall among the Top Colleges in America for its 2024 edition, marking the 28th year the University has been ranked as one of the nation's best institutions for undergraduate education by the education services company's annual college guide, "The Best 389 Colleges"; and Money magazine again named Seton Hall a "Best College for your Money."
