Friday, April 12, 2019
Kylie Tumiatti, a Diplomacy Major, Fulbright, Pickerman and Gilman award recipient, is an example of 'what great minds can do' at Seton Hall!
Inspired by Seton Hall's new "What Great Minds Can Do" branding campaign and in partnership with the Petersheim Academic Exposition, the Office of Public Relations and Marketing is hosting a series of "brain game" competitions for students, faculty and staff on Wednesday, April 24, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the University Green.
The "Great Minds on the Green" event will include Seton Hall trivia competitions, brain games, branded giveaways, a photo booth and much more. The competitions are open to individuals as well as teams of up to four members. Teams can include groups of students, faculty members and staff as well as members of fraternities, sororities, athletic teams, clubs and organizations. Winners will receive gift cards and "Great Minds" gear.
"We want to make the Seton Hall community aware of the vast array of great minds we have on campus who are making a positive impact on the world through their research, scholarship and service," explains Dan Kalmanson, associate vice president of Public Relations and Marketing. "This event is an excellent opportunity for our students, faculty and staff to show the rest of the campus how smart they really are by taking part in challenging intellectual competitions."
"Great Minds on the Green" will feature individual and team competitions including brain puzzles, Rubik's cube races and Seton Hall trivia. In addition, attendees can nominate a student, faculty or staff member to be featured as a "Great Mind of the Week" on the University's website. Groups of students, faculty and staff can also be nominated. The winner will receive a "Great Minds" prize package that includes a $50 gift card.
"I'm excited to take part in 'Great Minds on the Green,'" said Danny Guerra, a junior majoring in public relations. "I'm going to get some friends together for the trivia contest. I think it will test us on just how much we really know about Seton Hall."
You can sign up online for either individual or team competitions as well as to nominate a "Great Mind of the Week," or at the "Great Minds" tent on the Green. Space is limited so sign up early. The rain date will take place on Thursday, April 25, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the Green.
The Office of Public Relations and Marketing worked with Lipman Hearne, a leading higher education marketing firm, to develop the "What Great Minds Can Do" branding campaign for Seton Hall to support the University's strategic goals and Catholic mission. The campaign is based on extensive quantitative and qualitative research conducted with key constituent groups (prospective and current students, faculty, staff, alumni and parents) to identify the University's core distinctive strengths.
Based on the research data and University's mission, the firm created a comprehensive brand strategy to highlight Seton Hall's rigorous academics, faculty expertise, student achievements and alumni success. The "What Great Minds Can Do" tagline was designed to be extremely versatile and can be used in a wide array of University communications.
