Fall 2026 Virtual Lunch and Learn Series: Connecting Graduate Students to Resources and Success

student shaving lunch while in front of a laptopAfter a highly successful first year, the Graduate Student Virtual Lunch and Learn Series is back for Fall 2026! Building on the momentum and engagement of the 2025-26 series, current graduate students are invited to join this new lineup of dynamic sessions designed to support and enrich your graduate experience. Session will run on Wednesdays starting September 9, and run mostly biweekly through December 2.

Presented by the Office of Graduate Affairs in collaboration with campus partners, these interactive lunchtime events connect students with essential resources, expert guidance and opportunities for personal, academic and professional growth.

Whether you're looking to enhance your research skills, discover campus services, improve your well-being, leverage technology resources or prepare for the next step in your career, each session offers practical insights and valuable connections.

Wednesday, September 9
The Library Presents: Graduate Research Support and the University Libraries
This program will look at various areas of learning support for our valued graduate students. Included during this session will include details such as searching for relevant information-centered materials, citation tools, data service opportunities and much more. Comments and questions about individual majors and projects are most welcome!  

Wednesday, September 23
Teaching, Learning and Technology Center (TLTC) Presents: Using Artificial Intelligence for Academic Research and Productivity
Artificial intelligence offers capabilities that extend beyond those of traditional search engines. During this lunch session, participants will explore practical ways to use AI for academic and professional tasks, learn strategies for writing more effective prompts, and review essential guidelines for the responsible use of AI in university settings. The session will also introduce specialized AI tools that researchers can incorporate into their workflows to locate relevant information, evaluate sources, organize materials, and streamline academic research tasks.

Explore immersive study abroad opportunities designed for graduate students at Seton Hall, combining academic, professional and cultural experiences that enhance your degree while building global perspectives and career-ready skills.

Campus Inclusion Presents: What Diversity Really Looks Like
Campus Inclusion is charged with promoting belonging, collegiality, and cultural engagement. It is a welcoming space where students, faculty, and staff can gather, learn and build relationships. But what does inclusion look like IRL? How do we lean into this mission?

Additionally, this is important as a campus community as The Strategic Plan Pillar 2 includes our commitment to creating a welcoming community that embraces the dignity of every human person and our commitment to a campus free from harassment and discrimination. Expanding Seton Hall opportunities for community members to engage with peoples and cultures both locally and from around the world.

Counseling and Psychological Services Presents: Nourishment and Balance
This session focuses on helping participants build resilience by cultivating balance in daily life through intentional care of their emotional, physical and mental resources. Participants explore what balance means on a personal level and learn to distinguish between nourishing activities that restore energy and build mastery and depleting activities that drain emotional, cognitive, or physical reserves. This module emphasizes maintaining balance by increasing positive experiences, building a sense of competence and skillfully managing unavoidable stressors through boundaries, mindfulness and self care strategies.

The Career Center Presents: Interviewing Strategies
The interview is your opportunity to demonstrate your qualifications, highlight your fit with the organization, and create a strong impression.  Join us for this webinar where we will discuss interviewing strategies, review how to prepare and highlight ways to develop and communicate your professional identity during the interview.  Attend and start working on how you want to tell your professional story and interview with confidence.

Graduate Student Virtual Lunch & Learn Series: The Financial Aid Office Presents – Learn About Your Financial Aid Options
This session will review federal and private loan options available to graduate students and provide guidance on how and when to apply for financial aid. Participants will also learn about the impact of new graduate loan legislation and explore university-based funding opportunities, including scholarships, graduate assistantships and other resources that can help make graduate education more affordable.

Health Services Presents: Wellness That Works: The Power of Small Changes
This interactive session focuses on turning wellness goals into realistic, sustainable actions that fit within busy schedules. Participants will explore how small, intentional changes in daily habits can lead to meaningful improvements in overall health and well-being.

Through a multidimensional wellness self-assessment, participants will gain insight into their current wellness practices and identify areas for growth. The session will then guide individuals in setting personalized goals and developing a practical Wellness Action Plan designed to support lasting success.
