Stand Against Hazing

No Hazing Awareness StandHazing prevention is a shared responsibility. Whether you are a student, employee, coach, advisor or student leader, you can play an important role in creating a campus community where everyone is treated with dignity and respect.

Seton Hall University’s Stand Against Hazing module is a brief educational program designed to help all members of our community recognize, prevent, and respond to hazing. The module explains the University’s hazing policy, identifies behaviors and warning signs that may indicate hazing and provides practical guidance about what to do when you see or suspect it.

Stand Against Hazing goes beyond simply defining prohibited conduct. The module provides specific information for how all members of our community can make a difference, including:

  • Students – how to recognize hazing, support friends, and report concerns.
  • Student Leaders – how to lead and support group identity without hazing.
  • Students involved in recruitment and new-member activities – know your rights, how to speak up and support one another.
  • Faculty, Administrators and Staff – how to help build a healthy campus where hazing is not acceptable.
  • Organization advisors – how to set the tone and expectations while supporting your organization’s members.
  • Coaches – how to promote positive team culture and identify traditions or practices that may cross the line into hazing.

Participants who complete the module earn a Stand Against Hazing badge recognizing their commitment to helping create a safe and respectful campus community. The digital badge can be added to a LinkedIn profile, resume, email signature or other professional and social platforms.

More resources and information about Hazing Prevention can be found on our website.

Hazing prevention does not belong to one office, one organization or one group of students. It requires a community that knows what hazing looks like, is willing to speak up when something does not seem right and understands how to respond.

Take the Stand Against Hazing module. Earn your badge. Know the signs. Know what to do. Stand against hazing.
