Faculty Retreat Series Spring 2022  

The Heart of the University Retreat Series gives faculty and administrators of all faiths the opportunity for input and guided reflection. The series is co-sponsored by the Office of Mission and Ministry and the Center for Vocation and Servant Leadership.

The third retreat, given by Professor Melinda Papaccio on the theme of Development and Interiority: The Transformation of Rising and Falling Love, will be held on Wednesday, February 16, 2022, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. via Microsoft Teams. 

As educators, we know that our teaching can set into motion a process of transformation that moves in both directions – our teaching transforms our students, and our experience with our students can transform us as well. It involves both the "outer work" of communicating knowledge and skills, and the opportunity for important "inner work" to be done.  In this retreat we will explore how our work can be the catalyst for spiritual events in our interior lives. How do we bring the fruits of that transformed interiority back into our teaching?  

Melinda Papaccio is a GEM Fellow in the Praxis Program, has been a First Year Writing Instructor / Lecturer with Seton Hall’s English Department for over 20 years and also teaches in the Department of the Core.
