DOVE's Fall Drives Set to Begin August 24
Monday, August 17, 2020
Since 2007, hundreds of Seton Hall students have traveled to the Maison Fortune Orphanage in Hinche, Haiti.
The Division of Volunteer Efforts (DOVE) is at the very heart of Seton Hall University’s commitment to servant leadership. Striving to affirm the dignity of all people and the importance of living as Christ taught us by putting our faith into action, DOVE will open the 2020-2021 academic year with its Philanthropy Project, consisting of three fall drives. All students, faculty, staff and administrators are encouraged to participate.
"Haiti Relief Drive" Aug. 24- Sept. 18
Since 2007, hundreds of Seton Hall students have traveled to the Maison Fortune Orphanage
in Hinche, Haiti, forming lasting bonds with the children who are housed, fed and
educated there. COVID-19 has created an even more dire need for those in Haiti who
already suffer the effects of poverty and food insecurity. DOVE is committed to providing
the materials that Maison Fortune Orphanage so desperately needs.
All students who are returning to campus are welcome to bring these items during their move-in timeslot. Contactless drop off for all drives will be located in the Boland Hall Lobby, Xavier Hall Lobby, Aquinas Hall Lobby and the COVID-19 testing site on the Main Campus.

"Christmas in October Toy Drive" Oct 1-22
DOVE's partners in the local community, as well as the children we support in Appalachia
year after year, are still in need this Christmas season! Due to the early end to
the semester, DOVE is pushing up the drive to meet these needs. There are more families
than ever looking to provide for their children during the holiday season this year.
Please join DOVE by signing up for a child.
"Hunger and Homelessness Drive" Nov. 1-24
Leading up to National Hunger and Homelessness awareness week, DOVE will be collecting
food, warm clothing and toiletries. These items will be distributed to our partners
who work directly with people experiencing homelessness, such as St. John's soup kitchen
in Newark, Our Lady of Sorrows food pantry in South Orange and St. Francis Inn in
Philadelphia.
About DOVE:
The Campus Ministry Division of Volunteer Efforts is one aspect of Seton Hall University's
response to the ongoing call for social justice. DOVE seeks to aid Seton Hall University
in its commitment to graduate not only well educated professionals, but also compassionate
individuals rooted in and guided by faith and its expression in firm moral convictions.
DOVE encourages all members of the Seton Hall community, regardless of faith or service
background, to get involved. While DOVE’s regular programming is currently on hold
due to social distancing protocols, there are a number of digital volunteer opportunities being offered throughout the Fall 2020 semester.
