Wednesday, October 15, 2025

Student competitor, Sanskruti Brahmbhatt '25, presenting her highly ranked research at last year's event.
Calling all undergraduate student researchers! The Office of the Provost is pleased to invite applications to represent Seton Hall at the 2026 BIG EAST Undergraduate Research Poster Symposium
The competition takes place on the same day as the Men’s Basketball Conference Championship Game in Madison Square Garden, Saturday, March 14, 2026. The event brings together the top scholars and mentors from each of the 11 universities in the conference within disciplines spanning everything from the humanities, social sciences and STEM fields, creating a unique forum for interdisciplinary networking.
Students present their research poster to three judges throughout the session, who evaluate the visual details of the poster along with the communication, engagement and scholarly knowledge demonstrated in order to rate and rank the presentation. Check out last year’s program and abstracts here.
Undergraduate students at Seton Hall University are invited and encouraged to complete the brief application to be considered for this year’s competition by November 4, 2025. Priority will be given to projects that demonstrate research excellence at Seton Hall, particularly those nearing completion or previously presented at other internal or external venues.
Team members will be announced in December and receive individual and group coaching sessions starting in January. Selected students will be financially supported to travel overnight to New York City as a team before the conference and will receive a complimentary ticket to the Men’s Basketball Conference Championship Game held the same evening of the competition, where the winners of the Symposium will be announced during the game!
This will mark the fifth year of Seton Hall’s participation in the symposium and third year offering selected students coaching and development sessions as a part of their experience! The Provost and involved faculty are confident in the promise of a successful competition this year! Students can reach out to Caryn Grabowski, director of Experiential Learning at [email protected], and Sona Patel, assistant provost for Academic Excellence and Assessment, at [email protected] for additional information or questions.
