ESLP Students Host Campus Faculty for Remote Lectures

ESLP students at Seton Hall have the opportunity to take an exciting course that introduces them to various disciplines at the university. Students in the ESLP 0571 English for Specific Purposes course read academic texts that are also used in the undergraduate programs. Students enhance their English language skills while learning about and being exposed to courses and majors that they may want to pursue at the university. The course is led by ESLP faculty Stephanie Montague.

A wonderful feature of this class are the remote guest visits by Seton Hall professors. At the end of each unit, a professor visits the class, presents on the topic, and the students are able to ask their questions. This is a terrific way for students to learn more about the topics and experience an authentic lecture-style presentation. Students were fortunate this spring semester to learn more about Comparative Education from Assistant Professor Bryan Meadows; Graphic Design from Assistant Professor Christine Lhowe; Computer Science and the math of Isaac Newton from Professor John Saccoman; and Journalism from Assistant Professor Matthew Pressman.

The academic-based ESL@SetonHall intensive English program prepares individuals for success in postsecondary undergraduate and graduate programs in the United States.
