Education Leadership Professor Appointed as the Research Professor in Residence  

Professor Christopher TienkenDr. Christopher Tienken has been appointed as the Research Professor in Residence by the American Association of School Administrators (AASA), the School Superintendents' Association.

The Research Professor in Residence supports AASA staff in education policy research, content management, requested writing assignments, and development of presentations for the National Conference on Education and other AASA conferences and webinars. Tienken will collaborate with AASA policy analysts, university faculty, and superintendents and central office administrators from around the country on various projects.

Specifically, the Research Professor in Residence is responsible for contributing content to and coordinating AASA's national studies, assisting with survey development and data analysis, and providing partnership and writing support for other AASA projects including the School Administrator magazine. Prior to being appointed as the Research Professor in Residence, Tienken was the PI on the AASA 2020 Decennial Study of the American Superintendent and the press release can be found here.

AASA was founded in 1865. It is the professional organization for more than 13,000 superintendent and cabinet-level school administrators in the United States and throughout the world. AASA members include chief executive officers, superintendents, cabinet-level administrators, professors, and aspiring school system leaders.
