We aim to provide our graduate students with all the tools and information they need to thrive throughout their tenure at Seton Hall. Below you will find resources and services related to life on campus, academics, financial aid and administrative needs and more.

Transportation

options

We offer two transportation options to travel on and around campus. To track the Shuttle and request an on-demand ride from SHU Ride, please download the TripShot app. If you have any questions, please contact Parking Services at (973) 761-9329.

Seton Hall Shuttle bus

Seton Hall Shuttle

Shuttle service is free for all community members and their accompanied guests. Community members will need to present their Seton Hall ID and tap the card once boarding.

Operating hours:

Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 3 a.m.
Saturday from 12 p.m. to 3 a.m.
Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 3 a.m.

SHU Ride

SHU Ride transports community members to locations within the SHU Ride zone that are not covered by our Shuttle route. Operates daily from 5 p.m. until 3 a.m.

To request a ride:

  • Use the TripShot app while within the SafeRide zone
  • Visit the Public Safety building (located behind Corrigan Hall and adjacent to the Ward Place exit)

Academic

The support, tools and technology you need to excel in your graduate program.

Compass

Compass provides faculty, advisers, tutors and program directors with a convenient way to support students who might be struggling with academic performance or attendance issues. Developed by the Education Advisory Board (EAB) and accessible through PirateNet, this platform combines technology and research to help students in their academic endeavors.

Canvas

Canvas is the University’s learning management system that connects you with your instructors, so course materials and activities can be shared and accessed online. In Canvas, you can access syllabi, announcements, assignments, discussions, quizzes and grades from your laptop, phone and/or tablet.

Writing Center

The Writing Center provides writing assistance to anyone affiliated with Seton Hall University, including alumni and current students.

Graduate students also have access to online tutoring through the Center’s Online Writing Lab (OWL) for assistance with writing, including resumes, cover letters, statements for scholarship applications, writing samples, journals, portfolio preparation and more. The Writing Center is located in the Library (Walsh Front Desk #316).

24/7 Tutoring with tutor.com

Through our partnership with tutor.com, you can access tutoring whenever you need, no matter the time or day of the week.

Tutor.com is a live, on-demand online tutoring platform that provides one-on-one learning solutions. The service is available 24/7 and can be accessed from any Canvas course by clicking the tutor.com link on the left-hand side navigation pane.

Adobe Creative Campus

Seton Hall is the first New Jersey Adobe Creative Campus — a partnership that gives members of the University community access to the Adobe Creative Cloud suite of apps. This partnership includes:

Free Adobe Creative Cloud access: As a graduate student, you can freely access Adobe Creative Cloud, equipping you with professional tools for digital creation and innovation.


Creative skills series: The University curates a series of tutorials aimed at enhancing creative skills, from beginner to advanced levels, with the added benefit of earning digital badges for completed sessions, showcasing your new skills.


Adobe workshops: Through specialized workshops, you can dive deeper into Adobe software, learning practical applications and creative techniques to elevate your academic and professional projects.

TLTC Technology Training

The Teaching, Learning, and Technology Center (TLTC) provides comprehensive, hands-on training and professional development opportunities for the entire Seton Hall community. These in-person and remote offerings cover everything from laptop basics to more advanced topics. TLTC also empowers you to learn at your own pace with LinkedIn Learning courses and training documents available online.

From books, databases and other resources to consultations with a University librarian, we are happy to help you with your graduate research.

Dissertation, thesis and final project review submission process

The University Libraries work with the Registrar to ensure that dissertations are deposited in an acceptable final form in both our Electronic Theses and Dissertations (ETD) Repository and with ProQuest Dissertation & Theses Global (the international dissertation registry) before the degree goes on your transcript or your diploma is released.

Online library services

We provide a user-friendly online platform with a digital collection that includes a vast repository of e-books, scholarly journals and databases that span a multitude of disciplines. The Library offers research guides, data services, citation assistance and virtual reference services, which provide one-on-one support to meet the needs of all our students — including those who attend online programs — through virtual consultations or the Ask Us portal.

Microsoft Surface Hubs in Walsh Library study rooms

The Walsh Library is home to Microsoft Surface Hub 2S devices in 25 group study rooms on the third and fourth floors. With a 50-inch wall-mounted display, the Surface Hub 2S offers an immersive interactive experience that includes:

  • Enhanced collaboration: The device is equipped with Microsoft Teams integration to facilitate engagement and collaboration for both in-person and remote participants.
  • Improved inclusivity: With features like the 4K web camera, meetings become more inclusive — ensuring all participants are seen and heard clearly regardless of their location within the room.
  • Real-time co-creation: Users can collectively work on documents using native Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint, with the ability to save their progress directly to OneDrive.
  • Versatile connectivity: Surface Hub 2S supports various connectivity options, including HDMI, USB and USB-C ports, enabling seamless integration with personal devices and a smooth user experience.

Counseling and

Psychological Services (CAPS)

CAPS emphasizes a brief therapy model, designed to provide focused and effective short-term therapy, addressing specific issues or life transitions that students face. Visit the CAPS site to explore all their services, including free 24/7 telehealth counseling through Uwill.

Learn More

Campus Inclusion Center
The Campus Inclusion Center promotes inclusion, belonging, collegiality and collaboration among all campus partners. Visit them in the University Center, Room 209, Monday through Friday from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Dare to Care website and The Well toolkit
Seton Hall provides students and faculty with easily accessible and practical mental health resources through our newly launched interactive website for our Great Minds Dare to Care initiative and The Well mental health toolkit.

The updated site introduces a variety of resources aimed at helping students navigate mental health challenges. Highlights include a student-created video on “How to Help a Friend,” offering peer-driven guidance on providing support, clear explanations distinguishing sadness vs. depression and stress vs. anxiety to help students recognize when to seek help, and The Well Toolkit, a comprehensive online collection of self-help tools designed to promote emotional wellness and resilience.
