Technical Standards and Essential Functions
Several academic programs with a clinical component have established technical standards and essential functions for their students. Technical standards/essential functions apply to student performance and essential program outcomes. Students must meet these standards with or without the use of reasonable accommodations.
Prospective students are encouraged to be familiar with these standards prior to enrollment in a program. Enrolled students are expected to be familiar with these standards from the time of matriculation through graduation.
Questions about the standards should be directed to the program or department chair. Questions about reasonable accommodations should be directed to Disability Support Services.
