Administrator's Special Assistant for the Middle East, US Agency for International Development

Mr. George Laudato,'63, led the Middle East Bureau as Administrator's Special Assistant for the Middle East at the US Agency for International Development. He has more than 45 years of experience in international program development and management in the private and public sectors in Asia, the Middle East, Latin America and Central Europe. Laudato was Managing Senior Vice President of the International Health Area at Abt Associates, directing programs across 40 projects and more than 350 employees worldwide. Prior to joining Abt, Laudato served for 29 years with USAID, where he directed major regional and policy bureaus and led country missions. He was Deputy Assistant Administrator for the Bureau for Asia and the Near East and for the Bureau for Program and Policy Coordination. He opened the USAID Mission in Nicaragua, as Director, reestablishing a USAID program in the country, and has served as both Deputy Director and Associate Director of USAID's Mission in Egypt. Laudato carried out economics coursework at George Washington University and received a bachelor's degree in psychology from Seton Hall University.
