Poetry-in-the-Round Hosts Booker Finalist Brandon Taylor
Friday, April 1st, 2022
Poetry-in-the-Round hosts fiction writer Brandon Taylor on Tuesday, April 5 at 7 p.m. ET in a free online event.
Brandon Taylor is the author of Filthy Animals, a national bestseller, and Real Life, which was shortlisted for the Booker Prize, longlisted for the Center for Fiction First Novel Prize, and named a New York Times Book Review Editors' Choice. He holds graduate degrees from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and the University of Iowa, where he was an Iowa Arts Fellow at the Iowa Writers' Workshop in fiction.
Taylor is widely regarded as one of the most exciting and talented young fiction writers in America today.
Of his most recent book, longlisted for the Dylan Thomas Prize, a finalist for The Story Prize, and named a Best Book of the Year by NPR and many other outlets, The New York Times Book Review says: "Sumptuous, melancholic portraits of characters overwhelmed. . . . Taylor has a talent for taking the dull hum of quotidian life and converting it into lyrics. . . . These intimacies, often cozy, pair splendidly with the uglier, more brutal elements to establish the book’s focus: the feral that lurks under the veneer. . . . A perfect companion piece for our nervous era."
The event is free and open to the public. All are welcome. Register here.
