Seton Hall Unites for Seventh Annual Giving Day

Seton Hall students on The Green.Seton Hall is gearing up for its seventh annual Giving Day on April 17-18. Led by the Division of University Advancement, Giving Day aims to garner support for students and the University. The day has seen remarkable success in the past, raising over $1.2 million from more than 2,400 donors just last year. With collaborative efforts from Seton Hall Law and Pirate Blue Athletic Fund, the effort has grown successfully since 2018 and has become a tradition backed by the pride and spirit of the University community including alumni, families and friends.

According to University Advancement, this year’s Giving Day is all about coming together. "Our theme this year truly embodies the loyalty of the Seton Hall community," says Director of Annual Giving, Leanne Pinard Baum, M.P.A. ’19. "Our strength has always been in bringing our community together and in the dedication of our Pirates both past and present. Last year we made history, and I am optimistic about this year and the power our Giving Day has not just to elevate Seton Hall, but also to empower future generations of Pirates in their educational journeys."

In honor of the University’s founding year, the goal is set to secure 1,856 donors. "Every gift plays a pivotal role in fostering opportunities for students to excel and mature into leaders in their respective fields," says Pinard Baum. Donors are able to support a variety of funds and key University priorities including the RISE Program, the Center for Sports Media, International Programs, scholarships and more. The initiative is starting out strong with a matching gift from a generous donor who has agreed to give $300,000 if the goal of 1,856 donors is met before Giving Day ends on April 18.

To broaden the reach of the big day, and to develop a larger presence on campus, the Student Alumni Association (SAA) will host an on-campus event from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, April 17, on the University Green to engage current students, boost their participation and educate them on the significance of philanthropy and the impact it has on their present student experiences. The generosity of alumni and donors touches almost every aspect of their student lives, from assistance with tuition, to internship opportunities, and their time spent both inside and outside of the classroom.

Seton Hall Giving Day is undeniably the University’s biggest day of giving during the calendar year and creates a unified sense of purpose towards a common goal: to provide students with the resources necessary for an exceptional education and student experience while building the legacy of the institution. This year, Seton Hall is calling on the unwavering loyalty and support of its community once again to aim for yet another groundbreaking year.

Contribute to this historic day and lead by example in making an early gift for Seton Hall’s seventh annual Giving Day!
