Kristi Stinson earned her B.S.N. at Villanova University. She earned both her M.S.N. (Adult care and Acute care) and Ph.D. at Seton Hall University. She has been practicing as a nurse and nurse practitioner for over 25 years. She has worked in a variety of clinical settings including med-surg, neurology, intensive care, pain management, and, most recently, cardiology private practice, health promotion/preventive services and as a nurse educator for Atlantic Health System - Western Region.
Dr. Stinson's passion and love for nursing led her to teaching. Prior to accepting a full time position at Seton Hall, she worked in an adjunct capacity for several years teaching in both the didactic and clinical settings at the undergraduate and graduate level. She was extremely fortunate to be able to pursue her doctorate degree through the generous support of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation - New Jersey Nurse Initiative. Dr. Stinson's dissertation research examined registered nurses' clinical experience and clinical decision making processes in relation to physical restraint use in the critical care setting.
