Campus ariel viewSeton Hall University has once again been recognized as one of the nation’s top colleges by The Princeton Review, earning a place in The Best 392 Colleges: 2027 Edition and among the organization’s Best Colleges in the Northeast.

The University also earned national recognition across four categories based on student assessments of their college experience:

  • No. 1 Best College Radio Station
  • No. 5 Best Student Support and Counseling Services
  • No. 13 Students Love Their School Teams
  • No. 20 Most Active Student Government

The results continue Seton Hall’s strong showing in The Princeton Review rankings, with the University placing among the top 20 nationally for student support, school spirit, student engagement and campus media. WSOU 89.5 FM also retained its position as the No. 1 college radio station in the nation for the second consecutive year.

The Princeton Review selected 392 colleges for its 2027 guide, representing about 14 percent of the nearly 2,800 four-year colleges in the United States. Its 50 ranking lists are based entirely on surveys of 172,000 students at the featured institutions. Students responded to a 98-question survey covering academics, administrative services, campus life, financial aid, student experiences and other aspects of college life.

WSOU Named No. 1 College Radio Station
For the second year in a row, Seton Hall’s student-run radio station, WSOU 89.5 FM, earned the No. 1 spot on The Princeton Review’s list of Best College Radio Stations.

An integral part of Seton Hall since 1948, WSOU gives students hands-on experience in broadcasting, journalism, sports coverage, production and station management while serving listeners throughout the New York metropolitan area.

The station has earned national recognition throughout its history, including induction into the Rock Radio Hall of Fame, a Peabody Award and two Marconi Awards. Its continued No. 1 ranking reflects both the station’s longstanding reputation and the opportunities available to students to develop professional skills while still in college.

Among the Nation’s Best for Student Mental Health Support
Seton Hall was ranked No. 5 nationally for Best Student Support and Counseling Services, a category based on students’ assessments of the counseling services available on campus.

The University supports student well-being through a range of programs and services, including Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS), Disability Support Services (DSS), Great Minds Dare to Care, The Well Mental Health Toolkit and peer-to-peer mental health and wellness initiatives.

The recognition reflects Seton Hall’s broader commitment to supporting students inside and outside the classroom and fostering a community where students have access to resources that support their academic, personal and social development.

School Spirit and Student Leadership Earn National Recognition
Seton Hall also ranked No. 13 nationally for Students Love Their School Teams, reflecting the strong connection between students and Pirate athletics. The University offers 14 NCAA Division I varsity sports as a member of the BIG EAST Conference, along with club and intramural opportunities that give students numerous ways to participate in campus athletics and build community.

The University was also ranked No. 20 for Most Active Student Government, recognizing a campus culture in which students have opportunities to participate in leadership, advocacy and decision-making. Through the Student Government Association and more than 130 clubs and organizations, students can take active roles in shaping campus life while developing leadership skills and connections across the University community.

The 2027 Princeton Review distinctions highlight defining elements of the Seton Hall experience: a supportive campus community, opportunities for students to lead and get involved, strong school spirit and nationally recognized experiential learning opportunities.
