The Culture Compass: Arturo Nuñez Brings a New Conversation on Identity, Leadership and Success to Seton Hall University

Arturo NunezWhat does it take to succeed in corporate America without losing sight of who you are? For Arturo Nuñez, the answer begins with a fundamental shift in perspective: culture is not an obstacle to overcome, but an advantage to embrace.

On Wednesday, December 2, 2026, at 6:30 p.m., the Joseph A. Unanue Latino Institute at Seton Hall University will host Nuñez for a special event celebrating his new book, The Culture Compass: Navigate the Corporate World Without Losing Yourself, coauthored with Cecil R. Cross II. The event will take place in the University Center Event Room and is free and open to the public.

Nuñez brings more than three decades of experience leading marketing and brand strategy for some of the world's most recognizable organizations, including Nike, Apple, the National Basketball Association (NBA) and Nubank. His career has taken him across international markets, executive leadership teams and global business environments, offering him a firsthand understanding of how culture, identity and organizational expectations shape professional success.

Today, as founder and CEO of AIE Creative and a board member of The Estée Lauder Companies and Abercrombie & Fitch Co., Nuñez continues to work at the intersection of business strategy, leadership and culture.

In The Culture Compass, he challenges conventional career advice that encourages professionals to assimilate, adjust or minimize the parts of themselves that may not fit traditional corporate expectations. Instead, he offers a framework for understanding the unwritten rules of professional environments while maintaining one's values, perspective and authentic voice.

His message is particularly relevant for college students and emerging professionals preparing to enter the workforce. Technical expertise and academic achievement remain important, but navigating professional environments also requires cultural fluency, self awareness, relationship building and the ability to understand how influence and leadership operate within organizations.

The event reflects the mission of the Joseph A. Unanue Latino Institute, which was established in 2005 through the generosity of Joseph A. and Carmen Ana Unanue. At Seton Hall University, the Institute advances educational opportunity, professional development, mentorship and leadership while highlighting the contributions and impact of Latinos in American society. Its programming serves the entire university community, creating opportunities for students and professionals from all backgrounds to engage with diverse perspectives and learn from accomplished leaders.

The Joseph A. Unanue Latino Institute welcomes Seton Hall students, faculty, staff, alumni, professionals and community members to this special evening of conversation and learning.
