Seton Hall University Television (SHU TV)

Pirate Television, Control RoomSeton Hall University Television (SHU TV) is the voice of student media on campus. Integrated within the College of Human Development, Culture, and Media, it is the sole broadcast network created “by the students, for the students.” SHU TV offers unique opportunities for students in and out of broadcasting, both on and off-camera.

Founded in 1990 and formerly known as Pirate TV, this diverse group of students currently leads the charge producing a variety of live and pre-taped video content.  In 2024, the club underwent a thorough restructuring and rebranding, marking the beginning of SHU TV.  Original programming consists of Campus Nightly, the club’s signature program, and specialty broadcasts, such as landmark productions like Election Night in America and Inauguration Day in America.

Campus Nightly

Designed from the ground up as SHU TV’s signature program, Campus Nightly delivers national news, sports coverage, local news, special guest interviews, and more. As the leading form of involvement at SHU TV, Campus Nightly brings students of various disciplines together to produce scheduled shows released on its YouTube page. With custom graphics and a state-of-the-art facility in the University Center TV Studio, students can experience the thrill of live broadcasting alongside their peers. Involvement is open to students of any major or discipline.
