Arts Council Kicks Off Season of Virtualized Cultural Programming  

Housed in the College of Communication and the Arts, the Arts Council is proud to continue the long-standing tradition of bringing world-class cultural programming to the University community and beyond.

The 2020-2021 season will kick off with a series of virtualized events, all of which are free and accessible to all. Several Arts Council programs happening in this month of November include a special concert from the Classical Concert Series, two unique broadcasts of Jazz 'n the Hall, and encore access to a special Seton Hall Theatre production. Events this year are available in a variety of ways, some being broadcast via the South Orange Performing Arts Center, some on the University's own website and others over the airwaves of the award-winning radio station, WSOU 89.5FM.

Jazz 'n the Hall presents "A Brief History Of Jazz"
Saturday, November 14, 9 p.m. ET 
Tune into WSOU 89.5FM Radio for Jazz 'n the Hall's special one-hour presentation entitled "A Brief History of Jazz." Presented by Seton Hall adjunct professor Gregory Scime, and Seton Hall adjunct professor Douglas Purviance, a prominent jazz producer and manager of the Vanguard Jazz Orchestra, and pianist Scott Arcangel, formerly the Musical Director of the United States Military Academy Jazz Knights at West Point. A Night of Italian Opera: Arias for Hope and Resilience

Jazz 'n the Hall presents, "Jazz Vocalists"
Saturday, November 21, 9 p.m. ET
Tune into WSOU 89.5 FM Radio for the second event in this special jazz series, featuring a jazz vocal repertoire ranging from the great classic blues singer Gertrude "Ma" Rainey to the contemporary jazz vocals of Diana Krall. Click here for more information.

Coming in December, the much beloved Seton Hall Christmas tradition of Lessons and Carols will take place as well, with the choir led virtually by Assistant Professor of Music, Dr. Jason Tramm.
