Updated Mask Requirements, Vaccine Declaration, 2nd Dose Vaccine Clinic

Congratulations to all our Class of 2021 graduates as we celebrate their achievements across three ceremonies this week and next.

Elimination of Mask Requirement Outdoors

The State's reopening continues. As we announced on Tuesday, on May 17, Governor Murphy eliminated the mask requirement in outdoor public spaces. Masks do not need to be worn outdoors, regardless of individuals' vaccination status or ability to maintain social distance, as directed by Governor Murphy through NJ Executive Order No. 241. Accordingly, the Seton Hall Pledge is being updated to reflect this guidance. As noted in NJEO No. 241, the indoor mask requirement remains in effect.

Remember to complete the Confidential Vaccine Declaration

On May 14, the Executive Cabinet announced that the University is requiring every member of the Seton Hall community to be fully vaccinated prior to the start of the fall 2021 semester, subject to exemptions for religious beliefs, pre-existing health conditions, or personal reasons while COVID-19 vaccines are authorized on an emergency-use basis.

To assess the immunization level in our community, we are also requiring each member of our University community to complete a Confidential Vaccine Declaration. You will be prompted to complete the declaration when you sign in to PirateNet.

Notice of the declaration requirement was sent to 12,753 individuals. As of yesterday, May 19, in just the third day of the declaration's availability, 51.4% of the recipients responded. Approximately sixty percent (60.3%) report being fully vaccinated. Almost eleven percent (10.8%) report having received the first of two injections. Just over seventeen percent (17.2%) plan to get vaccinated. Almost twelve percent (11.7%) report they will be seeking an exemption. We will provide further detail in next week's HICT update. Please remember to complete the declaration.

2nd Dose Vaccine Clinic on May 26

As a reminder, on Wednesday, May 26, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m., we will host the 2nd dose COVID-19 vaccine (Moderna) clinic. Those members of the Seton Hall Community and their families who received their first dose during the clinic held on April 28 are eligible to attend. The clinic will take place at the Richard and Sheila Regan Fieldhouse on the South Orange campus. Please arrive 15 minutes before your appointment time and bring your identification, vaccine card issued on April 18 and insurance information with you. Note that there is no cost to you for the vaccine. The clinic is provided thanks to a partnership with Clara Maas Medical Center.
