PR Grad is Headed to NY Firm
Brittannia Gordon is a public relations major, minoring in visual and sound media. After graduation, Brittannia will be working as an account coordinator for CooperKatz & Company, a NY-based PR firm. What else is she ready for? “I want to continue to grow in my career and also do a lot of traveling!”
Ready to Save Lives
Kevin Kattiandagho, a nursing major from Metuchen, NJ, is ready to jump into action in the ER at St. Barnabas Hospital. Kevin has been active in his fraternity, APO, and on the Student Activities Board, which he says helped get him involved in campus life. Kevin plans to stay connected with his Seton Hall family -- the friends he made through The Filipino League at Seton Hall, better known as FLASH!
Cats, Dogs and Island Life
Jessica Ferrara graduates with a degree in Biology and then she’s off to the beach….to attend grad school! Jessica is heading to veterinarian school at Ross University on the island of St. Kitts. She’s always loved animals and healthcare, so becoming a veterinarian is a perfect fit for her. Jessica found her way to Seton Hall because of the school’s perfect proximity to her hometown of Brentwood, New York. It was far enough from home to get a new experience, but close enough to visit. Now Jessica is heading down to the Caribbean for a new adventure!
Globally Inspired
Daniel Kim is a world traveler. Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, he grew up in LA, before coming to school in NJ. Daniel is committed to a life in international relations. He’ll be heading to Penn State this fall to study urban ecology and foreign affairs. If you came across the origami tree on campus this spring, you have Daniel to thank for reminding us that we can help heal the earth.
From NYC Intern to Federal Reserve Analyst
Erika Ota Liedtke will be working with the Federal Reserve of New York as an analyst with the financial marketing infrastructure department. She interned with JP Morgan & Chase and Goldman Sachs, served as president and treasurer of the NSCS. Erika found time to be social media chair and VP of recruitment for Alpha Delta Chi, and was involved with Theta Alpha Kappa and Beta Gamma Sigma. A true servant leader, Erika founded a chapter for SHU Women in Business, as well as the EHC Dance Group.
Science Minded
Joshua Steier will be studying physics at both Seton Hall and Princeton. A mathematics wunderkind who speaks five languages and has had his research published in academic journals seven times -- Josh is ready extend his run as a Pirate! After graduation, you’ll find him churning out more impressive research from the labs at McNulty Hall.
Back to the Classroom
Choolwe Munsaka has come a long from home to pursue her studies. Originally from Lusaka, Zambia, Choolwe continued her education in Germany, before coming to the states to earn a M.A. in Diplomacy and International Relations at Seton Hall -- her second master’s degree. After graduation, Choolwe will be back on campus. You’ll find her in the classroom teaching at the College of Communication and the Arts.
Two Degrees and Ready to Go!
Caity Conroy, of Mendham, NJ, leaves her alma mater with both an B.S. in marketing as well as an M.B.A. Caity will be starting a job as a marketing specialist at Coldwell Banker. As a Seton Hall student, Caity was involved in the Business Leadership Program and Peer Advising. Attending the University, she says, felt like being part of one big (Happy) family. We’ll always be here for you, Caity.
A True Man of Standard
Alphayaya H Barrie, a finance major from Somerset, NJ, is ready to start working in the health finance industry - helping everyone he can. On campus, Alphayaya was very involved in Black Men of Standard and went on to become the group's presidential liaison. He also mentors younger students to follow the "Standard."
Preparing to Take on the World
Amatullah Shaw moves into the graduate program in Diplomacy, after earning dual undergraduate degrees in Diplomacy and International Relations and Modern Languages. Amatullah, who hails from nearby Newark, was drawn to the school because of its UN partnership. She served on the executive board for the Muslim Student Association and as the President for Students for Justice in Palestine.
Going for an M.B.A.
Anthony LaRocca, a political science major, will be attending graduate school here at Seton Hall, working toward his M.B.A. Hailing from West Orange, NJ, Anthony loved that Seton Hall allowed him to stay close with friends and family. The best part of campus he said -- hanging out on the green on a nice day.
On a Medical Mission -- then the Peace Corps
Adol Mayen, a first-generation college student from Syracuse, NY, says she "built a home away from home," here at Seton Hall. Adol majored in Diplomacy and International Relations Major and earned minors in political science, Arabic and religious studies. After graduation, Adol travels to Ghana with the SHU Medical Brigades to hand out medical supplies. She'll be packing her bags again when she joins the Peace Corps later this year.
Ready to Make a Difference
Faye Milus, double-majored in Diplomacy and Modern Languages and served on the executive board for Amnesty International, as well as the Middle Eastern North Africa Club. The Reading, PA, native hopes to make a difference in the field of international development now that she's wrapping up her time at Seton Hall.
3rd Gen Pirate and Sports Marketing Pro
Nick Romano was the student manager of the Seton Hall men's basketball team, a valued member of the University's PR and Marketing department and Public Relations Student Society of America and interned with the Brooklyn Nets! A PR major from Millburn, NJ, this proud third generation Pirate will be starting a career in sports marketing after graduation.
Writer, Leader, IR Professional
Ruthly Cadestin, of Union, NJ, is graduating with an M.A. in Diplomacy and International Relations.
While at Seton Hall she was the Executive Director of the Journal of Diplomacy, a
UN Digital Representative, and a leadership fellow. As Ruthly begins the next phase
of her career in international affairs, she says the School of Diplomacy has given
her the skills to be a more effective professionally and expand her reach to wider
horizons.
Future Owner, Key PR
Taylor Key, of Cumberland, Rhode Island, chose Seton Hall University because she wanted to be
near New York City. Taylor plans to work at a public relations agency after graduation
and eventually wants to open her own PR shop. While at Seton Hall, Taylor interned
with Sesame Street, held the post of PR Chair for the Black Student Union, was a member
of PRSSA and an account manager in the Litore Agency, the University's student-run
integrated communications firm.
Writer, Editor, Future Diplomat
Michael Curtin, a Diplomacy grad student focusing on humanitarian intervention, plans to build on
the writing skills he honed as deputy editor in chief of the Journal of Diplomacy.
His work has been seen in the International Policy Digest as well and the Star Ledger.
Michael, who lives in Kennilworth, NJ, found that the School's small class size gave
him an opportunity to work closely with faculty and get to know his fellow grad students.
Camera Ready
Lisa Demytrk, a public relations major and avid photographer, will be merging her dual passions post-graduation. Lisa was a member of Seton Hall's Public Relation Student Society of America chapter, serving as the Social Media Coordinator in her junior year and vice president in her senior year. She also directed the Litore Agency, a student-led integrated communications firm. Lisa took pictures and wrote stories for the Seton Hall web site as part of her worked for the University's PR and Marketing department.
