Writing For Catholic Media
Thursday, April 13, 2017
The Catholic Studies Program along with The G.K. Chesterton Institute for Faith and Reason proudly present, David Mills, Writing for Catholic Media on Wednesday, April 26th at 5. p.m in Walsh Library – Beck Rooms.
About the Lecture:
There is a twist to writing for the Catholic press. It combines the usual craft with
a discernment of what the Church asks for and needs to hear. The writer needs to be
good at both. David Mills will discuss both the craft and the calling of the Catholic
writer who wants to succeed in the Catholic media.
About the Speaker:
David Mills is former executive editor of First Things, guest editor of Touchstone Magazine, regular contributor to Catholic media, and is the author of two popular theology books, Knowing the Real Jesus and Discovering Mary. He is editorial director and board member of Ethika Politika, senior editor of The Stream, as well as an academic editor.
Mr. Mills writes columns for Aleteia, the Pittsburgh Catholic, and the Human Life Review. In the past, he has also written for Commonweal, Crux, the New Oxford Review, and other publications.
Mr. Mills is a member of the editorial board of The Chesterton Review, the journal of the G. K. Chesterton Institute for Faith & Culture, based at Seton Hall University.
