Dr. Kathleen Raviele
About the Lecture:
Throughout her life, St. Gianna prepared for her final loving decision: to make the
sacrifice of laying down her life for her unborn child. Her remarkable story as a
woman, a mother, a wife, and a Catholic physician provides valuable lessons that can
be applied to modern medicine. Dr. Raviele will give examples from her own practice
of medicine of how living out the Catholic faith in the vocation of medicine brings
healing to patients and joy in serving the sick. About the Speaker: Dr. Kathleen M.
Raviele is a board-certified, recently retired gynecologist in the Atlanta, Georgia,
area. She is a fellow in the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and
a member of the American Association of Pro-Life Ob-Gyns, and she was on the board
of the Catholic Medical Association (CMA) in various roles for over ten years, serving
as president of the CMA in 2008. She represents the CMA as a consultant for the Pro-Life
Secretariat of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops. She completed the
National Catholic Bioethics Center's course on health care ethics in 2010 and speaks
throughout the Archdiocese of Atlanta on marriage and human life topics. She served
as the volunteer medical director for the Pregnancy Aid Clinic for ten years and on
the board of Post-Abortion Treatment Healing, which assists women and men in recovery
from an abortion. She currently serves on the board of the Georgia Life Alliance,
which advocates for women in crisis pregnancies or human trafficking.
