Big Data in FinTech Comes to Seton Hall
On Tuesday May 9, Seton Hall University will host the 10th Annual New Jersey Big Data Alliance (NJBDA) Symposium, the state’s "premier conference for big data and advanced computing."
The mission of the Academy of Applied Analytics and Technology (A 3T) is to help advance Seton Hall University's cross-disciplinary curriculum, scholarship, and services in various emerging areas, such as data analytics and technology. However disruptive the new technologies of AI, machine learning, block chain, and big data, A3T envisions a nimble response to these ongoing disruptions. It sees these disruptions bringing new teaching and research opportunities for faculty development and student learning. It intends to center on these opportunities through a blend of analytics and technology from wherever the demands emanate. Accordingly, A3T sees a cross¬ disciplinary creation of new programs and new research, leading to skill sets that meet cmTent, emerging, and future market demands.
This Academy draws upon faculty from the College of Arts & Sciences, the Stillman School of Business, the School of Health and Medical Sciences and more to broaden the learning experiences and career prospects for students in applied analytics, big data, financial technology, and related fields. It will enrich the offerings of our Business Analytics, Computer Science, Data Science, Financial Technology, and other academic programs. It also facilitates creative cross-disciplinary projects that apply analytics and technology to solve pressing real-world problems and topics, including supply-chain management, machine learning, technology ethics, ESG (Environmental, Social, and Corporate Governance), cybersecurity, finance, disruptive technology, and more.
