GPA and Minimum Requirements to Transfer

Tracking a Major

GPA and minimum requirements to transfer into programs from within the University:

BART: After 30 credits (min of 12 earned at Seton Hall) students tracking Business must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.67. A minimum of a C+ is required in the following three prerequisite courses: MATH 1205*, BITM 2701 and ECON 1402. You may take the prerequisite courses no more than 2 times each. The likely order of courses is MATH 1205 (1st semester), BITM 2701 (1st or 2nd semester), ECON 1402 (2nd semester).

*A grade of C in a Calculus course (e.g., MATH 1401) will be considered equivalent to a C+ in MATH 1205.

DIPL: 3.0 overall and in Diplomacy courses after earning 30 credits.

ENGL: 2.5 in ENGL 1201 and ENGL 1202

POLS: 3.0 in two POLS courses

PSCI: Biology major: 2.0 overall GPA in BIOL 1211/1212, CHEM 1123/1125 and MATH 1015 or MATH 1401 and/or approval of Chair.

PSYS & PSYC: 2.0 GPA and a minimum grade of C- in PSYC 1101 and approval of Chair to declare PSYC major.

CART, EART, PART, UART, PRED — all students who wish to gain formal acceptance into the School of Education as ESED, SCED, SSED majors: 3.0 GPA and passing scores Core Academic Skills for Educators. Those students wishing to enter and remain in the DVSL dual degree elementary and special education with speech language pathology program is 3.2. The minimum GPA requirement to gain admittance and remain as a candidate in the dual degree elementary and special education with applied behavior analysis program is 3.3. In addition, any student at the university may not take any education class without first demonstrating at least a 3.0 GPA. Students tracking admission into College of Human Development, Culture, and Media need a 2.5 after their first semester and/or approval of Prof. Diana Minakakis to declare a major within the college. Prior to being formally accepted into the School of Education and in addition to the GPA requirements, students must take the Core Academic Skills for Educators test and earn the following minimum test scores:
Core Academic Skills for Educators: Reading (5712)
Core Academic Skills for Educators: Writing (5722)
Core Academic Skills for Educators: Mathematics (5732)

PRNU: 30 credits and 3.5 overall GPA end of academic year. Minimum C+ in BIOL 1122/1123 and BIOL 1133/1134 Anatomy and Physiology I and II and Labs. Students cannot retake these classes. Minimum grade of C+ must be earned on the first try. Minimum grade of C in ENGL 1201 and 1202.

PNST, NARTs and any other major: 30 credits and 3.5 overall GPA end of academic year. Minimum C+ in BIOL 1122/1123 and BIOL 1133/1134 Anatomy and Physiology I and II and Labs. Minimum grade of C in ENGL 1201 and 1202. Must take Kaplan.

Most majors not listed require a 2.0 minimum GPA to declare. At least one required course from discipline must be completed.
