On Friday, October 10, Seton Hall University gave back to the volunteers of the South Orange Rescue Squad with a $7,000 donation. The donation was presented by Michael Bradley, deputy director of Public Safety, and Monica Burnette, Ph.D., vice president of Student Services, to Rescue Squad President Nik Engineer.
"The South Orange Rescue Squad is grateful for our long-standing partnership with the students and faculty of Seton Hall University and we are delighted to receive this kind donation that will help us to serve our community," said Engineer. "Your support will allow us to continue to provide emergency medical services to the residents of South Orange, Maplewood and the surrounding communities, as well as provide first aid coverage at local events, deliver first aid and CPR courses, install public access AED stations and provide high-quality training to EMTs."
Assistant vice president and director of Public Safety and Security, Sergio Oliva added,
The South Orange Rescue Squad is a vital partner to Seton Hall, delivering rapid, professional care to our community when seconds count. Their dependable presence strengthens our operational readiness and the safety net around our campus every day.
Burnette shared,
We are grateful to collaborate with the South Orange Rescue Squad, who volunteer to serve members of the Seton Hall and the local community. Volunteering for this important organization helps Seton Hall students prepare to be servant leaders in their professional and community lives. We look forward to our continued partnership.
